How to Use attendAEC
Everything you need to know to get the most out of your AEC event calendar. No tech skills required.
What is attendAEC?
attendAEC is a single calendar that shows every AEC industry event in New England. Instead of checking 28+ different organization websites every week, you check one.
We automatically pull event information from organizations like SMPS, NEHES, ABC, BSA, ISPE, Bisnow, ASHE, and 21 more. Every morning at 6 AM, our system visits each org's website, grabs the latest event listings, and puts them all in one place for you.
Built by a BD Director who lived the pain firsthand. Tracking dozens of org calendars, copying events into spreadsheets, checking for new additions, coordinating coverage with teammates. attendAEC replaces all of that.
Getting Started
You can start using attendAEC in about 30 seconds:
- Go to attendaec.com/calendar — the full calendar is free to use, no sign-up needed. Browse events, use the filters, and search by keyword.
- Create a free account (optional) — click "Sign In" in the top right corner, then choose "Create account." Use your work email and set a password. This lets you set up your profile and follow your favorite organizations.
- Complete your profile — after signing up, you'll be asked for your name, company, title, and home state. You'll also pick which organizations you follow. This personalizes your experience.
- Subscribe to the newsletter — scroll down on the homepage and enter your email. Every Monday morning, you'll get a digest of the week's upcoming events delivered to your inbox.
- Explore Pro features — start a free 7-day trial to unlock saved filters, event notes, the pipeline view, map view, and calendar export. Your card is only charged after the trial ends.
Using the Calendar
The calendar is the heart of attendAEC. Here's what you can do:
Views
Use the view buttons at the top to switch between:
- Month View — see the whole month at a glance. Events are color-coded by industry (orange for Construction, pink for Women in Construction, teal for Pharma/Biotech, etc.). Click any event to see full details.
- Week View — a closer look at the current week with more room for event details.
- Day View — focus on one day at a time.
- List View — all events in a simple scrollable list, sorted by date. Great for a quick scan of what's coming up. Includes a "New This Week" section at the top showing recently added events.
Event Details
Click on any event to open its detail panel. You'll see:
- Date and time — when the event starts and ends
- Location — venue name, city, and state
- Description — what the event is about
- Organization — which group is hosting it
- Registration link — a direct link to the org's event page where you can sign up
Filters & Search
The left sidebar gives you powerful ways to narrow down what you see:
Filter by Organization
Under "My Calendars," you'll see every organization grouped by industry. Toggle any org on or off to show only the events you care about. For example, if you're only interested in Construction events, expand that group and check the orgs you follow.
Filter by State
Under "Location," click on state abbreviations (MA, CT, ME, NH, RI, VT) to show only events in those states. You can also filter for Virtual events or events in nearby states like NY, NJ, PA, and DC.
Search
The search bar at the top left searches event titles, descriptions, venues, and organization names. Type a keyword like "healthcare" or "golf" and results appear instantly.
Pro Tip: Combine filters for precision. For example, turn on just "Construction" orgs + "MA" state to see only Massachusetts construction events. Pro users can save these filter combinations for one-click access later.
Free vs. Pro
The free tier gives you full access to the event data. Pro gives you the tools to plan around it.
- Full calendar (month, week, day, list views)
- All filters (org, state, industry, event type)
- Search by keyword

- Season pipeline view
- Saved filters & personalized feed
- Personalized email digest
- Private event notes

Pro Features Explained
Map View
See every event pinned on an interactive map of New England. Zoom in on a city to see what's happening nearby, or zoom out to plan a road trip across multiple events in the same region. Each pin is color-coded by industry.
Season Pipeline View
A visual timeline of your entire event season, organized by month. Think of it like a planning board — you can see at a glance which months are heavy with events and which have gaps. Filter to show only events you've marked as attending to see your personal conference schedule laid out across the year.
Saved Filters
Set up your perfect filter combination once (for example: Construction + Women in Construction orgs, MA + CT states), then save it with a name like "My BD Events." Next time you visit, load that saved filter with one click instead of setting everything up again.
Personalized Email Digest
Free users get the standard weekly newsletter. Pro users get a personalized digest filtered to the organizations and industries you follow. It includes sections like "Your Week Ahead" (with your notes on events), "Time to Register" reminders, and "Post-Event Follow-Up" prompts.
Private Event Notes
Attach private notes to any event. Only you can see them. Use this to plan your approach: "Target: Dana-Farber facilities team. Bring case study brochure." or "Ask about upcoming renovation at UMass Medical." Your notes appear in the event detail panel and in your personalized digest.
Coverage Tagging
Mark yourself as "I'm Going" on any event. This is for your own planning — see all the events you've committed to in one filtered view. When you combine this with the pipeline view, you get a clear picture of your entire conference season.
Calendar Export
Export events to your Outlook or Google Calendar. Two options:
- .ics export — downloads a calendar file you can import into Outlook, Google Calendar, or Apple Calendar. Includes event times, locations, and descriptions.
- .csv export — downloads a spreadsheet you can open in Excel. Great for sharing with your team or importing into your CRM.
Weekly Newsletter
"This Week in AEC" lands in your inbox every Monday morning. No account required — just enter your email on the homepage.
Each issue includes:
- This Week's Events — everything happening in the next 7 days
- Newly Added — events that just appeared since last week
- Closing Soon — events coming up that you might miss if you don't act now
- AEC Industry News — headlines from 8 industry RSS feeds
- BD Quick Tips — practical business development advice for AEC professionals
Pro subscribers get an enhanced version with personalized sections filtered to the orgs and industries they follow, plus follow-up prompts for events they attended.

attendAEC was built by a BD Director at a New England construction management firm. After years of manually tracking 20+ org calendars in browser tabs and spreadsheets, he decided to build the tool he wished existed. It's designed by someone who does this work every day.
